Tamaki 4 is super excited about participating in the Manaiakalani Film Festival for the first time. We created this movie to share how we have been learning how to care for our dog Meg. This has been part of a special program at Sommerville called SPEC. We have focused on the key competency 'Using Language, Symbols and Text' from the NZ curriculum. We were learning how to be responsible for a pet. Meg had a great time at school!
We are an Intermediate class at Sommerville Special School in Auckland. There are 7 students in our class- 5 girls and 2 boys as well as our teacher (Sarah) and learning assistants (Malkait, Jackie and Lynda). At school we like to participate in many activities including sports and life skills, as well our curriculum work. We love blogging about latest activities and we hope you enjoy our learning adventures!!

Fireworks Safety
Today we were learning how to be safe around fireworks.
Thank you Tamaki 1 for showing us really safe ways to behave around fire.

Happy Halloween From Tamaki 4
On Wednesday we began to prepare for our Halloween Party. We made Jack-o-Lanterns. Everyone loved scraping out the seeds!
Yesterday we had a fantastic Halloween Party. We all dressed up and invited our friends from other classes to come to visit us. It was a great day!!
